This was a book that I wasn't too sure of as I read the first half, but as it continued, I found myself getting more caught up in it and intrigued. The world-building was interesting, and I really hate humans in this book. Ryder and Felix are assassins and in a relationship. Felix is a witch, so he is able to use magic to help with a lot of his cases. Ryder gets enchanted to take a case he wouldn't normally take, and it causes him to team up with Felix and some of their other friends. Felix is in a relationship with Ryder, but he is also in a separate relationship with Luka. Ryder and Luka knew of each other but have never met before. It was great to see them meet and see them have some kind of chemistry and connection. I am hoping we can see them come together in the next book. Despite starting off a little slow, I am very much interested in what happens next for these guys.

So this is book 2, and if you haven’t read the first book you really should. This isn’t a standalone story. That said, book 1 was a little slow starting for me but I ended up getting more intrigued as it went on. This book was so much better. I really enjoyed this. For me, this was more of a 4.5 star book.

Felix is in two relationships, one with Luka and one with Ryder. Both men know about the other and are fine with it. They met for the first time in the last book and you could tell there was some simmering attraction between Luka and Ryder. Well holy cow, it was boiling here. In this book Luka and Ryder come to terms that they want to be with each other as well as Felix. The three of them together are HOT. Totally steaming. Wowzers.

The mystery picks up where we left off, too, and we find out who Rafe is. He is here to cause a lot of trouble for Felix and our guys work together, with their friend Zane, to solve that problem. I absolutely adored this and need more of these three. Together, separately, anyway I can get them.… (mer)
