Gene Byrnes

"Reg'lar Fellers" was a kid strip from the 1920's and '30's (these are from 1927). The humor is fairly staid and contrived, and the same could be said for the artwork. But it does have a certain naive charm that would not be appreciated nowadays, and any strip that obviously owes so much of its inspiration to Percy Crosby's marvelous "Skippy" can't be too bad.
