How to Repair Automotive Air-Conditioning & Heating… av Jerry Clemons
Det här är en av LibraryThings förhandsrecensioner.
Even for those who with some mechanical know-how air conditioning repair can remain a mystery. As was the case in my household. This guide was extremely useful in demystifying my car and trucks a/c problems. The book includes instruction on finding the source of a/c and heating issues as well as how to go about repairing them. Includes color photographs which are always a plus.

If you’re looking for a repair bible with content, this is it. Every sentence is information loaded. There was so much good content that I frequently found myself having to reread a sentence to make sure I grasped the implication of what was read.
The book starts out with a theoretical background on heat and cold transfer. This background takes up about half of the book before the content moves into auto air conditioning diagnostics and trouble shooting. Following the troubleshooting section, the book ends with instructions on how to repair and replace A/C components. A/C theory may seem boring to many readers who are just looking for an A/C repair manual, but the background this background imparts, prepares the reader for the diagnostic section of the book that follows.
When I ordered this book, I thought that it would be a quick and easy read. What I found was that it was the opposite due to the thoroughness with which the subject matter was covered. Despite it not being what I expected, I’m glad that I stuck with it as the book is an information treasure. How to Repair Automotive Air-Conditioning & Heating Systems will remain on my bookshelf as a go-to resource for troubleshooting auto A/C problems.… (mer)

This how-to book is unpretentious and instructive. The writing is fairly basic; the focus is on the information being shared, and the accompanying photographs. I have little knowledge of the subject and can't comment on the book's accuracy.

I won this book at LibraryThing.com. I am not paid for this review, though winners are encouraged to publish a review.
That said, it looks really good. It is beautifully put together with lots of color pictures to help the reader/user understand the systems. As to the actual content, I have no idea.
Our HVAC program director took one look at it and said he will recommend it for any students who are considering going into the automotive industry. That's all I know.
