The thing with short stories from different authors is, that you can't possibly like all of them. This book is obviously an attempt by the publisher to bring less well-known authors under the attention of the readers. The stories by Midas Dekkers I liked, of course and there were some other very nice stories in there too.
Some stories however were too difficult for me, and I even studied literature. I don't understand why authors want to appear so intelligent that their stories become unreadable. I am sure I will not read the entire book again.
Conclusion: the writing of short stories is an art in itself and not every author masters it.… (mer)
