I thought this was okay. I liked the fact that the each poem had a small amount of Spanish added in. On the page adjacent to it there was the words that were in Spanish in the poem in English. It taught me some Spanish which was really nice. I think that students will enjoy that aspect of it. I did not like the fact that there were no pictures in the book. I would have liked to have seen pictures to explain the poems. Most of the poems were quite confusing. If there was some kind of photo or drawing that backed up the meaning of the poem, I would have understood. I think this fact would prevent students from reading the book, or continuing the book all the way to the end. I did like the fact that the poems were short and sweet. It gave me more a glance into Spanish Culture.I think the purpose of this book was teach students about Spanish culture and Spanish language. The poems were a great way to combine the two languages while informing the kids about the subject of the poem.… (mer)
