This is a classic book on issues between "conservative" Disciples, now known as the independent Christian Church/Church of Chris, and what is now the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). It is written from the perspective of the more "liberal" Disciples.

It is must reading for anyone desiring to learn about the history of the Stone-Campbell religious heritage, particularly the "independent" and the Christian Church (DOC) streams.

I wish I would have read this book 50 years ago!
