Paul Corkery

This book is informative, but more sensational than anything, with segments that detail the interior design of Johnny Carson's home and a chapter that is comprised totally of an interview with one of Carson's ex-wives. But the one thing that got me was the author's insulting comments about everything from actors to other talk show hosts. I picked up this book to learn about Johnny's Carson's life, not to get Paul Corkery's opinion on celebrities!

Seriously, listen to this: on page 30, "Actors and actresses are usually all ego and little thought and thus have nothing to say that would interest anyone but themselves...The surprising but sad fact is that most actors often aren't entertaining, just persistent. That's how they got their jobs on their not-very-entertaining TV series in the first place."

Perhaps because I was already ticked off at the author, I noticed a handful of typos throughout the book. Overall, I would not recommend this book to anyone.… (mer)
