Oxford dictionary of current idiomatic English av Anthony Paul Cowie
Even for those who own and use the Oxford English Dictionary, it must be a joy to browse through this 2-volume set. I do not know of a more comprehensive work on English idioms. Yet, the set is almost never seen in stores in the US! Over 1080 pages in 2 volumes. Several illustrative sentences for most entries. Highly recommended.
