Lillian Holmes is an heiress, and a poor little rich girl trying desparately to grow up. Ideally, she'd like to grow up to be just like her Uncle Sherlock (Holmes, that is). Except he's fictional, she's not. But she's an addict just like he was, and she has a penchant for stumbling onto mysteries, adopting rampaging bands of small boys, and commanding loyalty from her friends. Of course, Sherlock was never committed, and didn't have vampires for neighbors....

If you like your main characters drug addicted, tortured by horrible memories, and slightly delusional, this may be your book. I didn't dislike it, but I was underwhelmed.… (mer)
