Len Deighton was born in London, England on February 18, 1929. He served in the Royal Air Force Special Investigations Branch and graduated from the Royal College of Art in 1955. Before becoming the master of the modern spy thriller, he worked as an airline steward and as an illustrator. His first visa mer novel, The Ipcress File, was published in 1962. His other novels include Funeral in Berlin, Berlin Game, Mexico Set, London Match, Spy Hook, Spy Line, and Spy Sinker. He also writes television plays and cookbooks. Fallet Ipcress av Len Deighton

Antihjälten X, stjärnagent i brittiska underrättelsetjänsten, får uppdraget att spränga en internationell spionliga som har som specialitet att kidnappa och hjärntvätta vetenskapsmän för att komma över topphemligheter åt makter på andra sidan järnridån. Som en bricka i det storpolitiska spelet fjärrdirigeras han av sina uppdragsgivare omväxlande till främre Orienten, en Stillahavs atoll och en till synes fridsam Londonförort. För att inte få veta för mycket leds han ideligen in på villospår, vilket inte gör det lättare för honom att reda ut den trassliga härvan.… (mer)

Linan av Len Deighton

Linan är andra delen i den andra trilogin om spionen Bernard Samson. Len Deightons knappa ordkonst lämpar sig väl för thriller, krigs- och spion-teman. Än mer att den också faktiskt försöker följa samtiden till ett avslut som inte ska avslöjas här men som har all avstamp i verkligheten. Fastän historien nog inte skulle erkänna att det var ett brittiskt-amerikanskt jointventure som fick det att gå som det gick.

Guldstaden av Len Deighton

En äkta tidsfördrivsbok en lat sommardag, eller kall mörk vinterdag eller på tåget - ja - poängen torde ha nått fram. Temat spioner, krig och andra världskriget och allt som fantiseras därom har nog inga gränser. Len Deightons lite ordknappa hårdkokta stil passar bra för detta.
