Interesting title, bad book.

She has read a lot of stuff (some of it even fairly good), and knows how to weave it together into a seeming whole, but without really managing to say anything terribly worthwhile.

Yes, I'm sure there exist a substantial number of people who'll think this is wonderful stuff. You're welcome to it.

Update: I feel a need to moderate my negative review by acknowledging that she tries to address some issues which are important, but, in my opinion, she just gets bogged down in meaningless waffle. If "God" actually existed, it wouldn't exist in the vague anything-you-want-it-to-be way she describes it. Repeatedly quoting that mere mammal that the Chinese are so kind as to spare the Tibetan people from having to suffer (the Dalai Lama), does not help gain my confidence that she has sound judgement.… (mer)
