The Language of Flowers by Vanessa Diffenbaugh - May 2011 LTER i Reviews of Early Reviewers Books (augusti 2011)

Recensioner

Frustrating but ultimately quite good.

After a few chapters I found myself needing to read near the internet so that I could google images of the flowers.

Difficult subject matter and characters with a soft storyline about the flowers to smooth out the jarring parts of Victoria's path through life.

Thanks to my sister for recommending and sending this to me. We both share a deep love for flowers and old-fashioned ways, while still living in the tough modern world.

A lovely story that follows the most unexpected journey, also the first book I've ever read that captures the reality of postpartum, which definitely allows mothers to connect with this character on a different level because regardless of your circumstance that time is a challenge for all mothers.

I also enjoyed having a teenage boy narrator for this book, I haven't read anything from that perspective in a long time especially outside of the YA genre and it was nice to venture into Alex's head for a bit. Overall the story was good and somewhat believable, I'm glad that I stuck with it since the opening chapters had me wondering if I really wanted to read about a train wreck of a mother but like in [b:The Language of Flowers|10032672|The Language of Flowers|Vanessa Diffenbaugh|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1333577674s/10032672.jpg|14928278] we have the unique opportunity to watch a mother blossom over the course of the book.… (mer)
