This work opens with various papers from the Earth Metabolic Design Lab, a non-profit foundation dedicated to testing and analyzing the effects of the synthetic compound. They're followed by the paper, "MDMA: A New Psychotropic Compound and Its Effects in Humans" by George Greer, M.D. Then comes a raft of letters, charts, tables, bibliographies, chemical formulae, diagrams, meeting minutes, and other ephemera that was introduced during the DEA's hearings. (This updated and expanded edition includes several items not found in the earlier version.) The materials here include facsimiles of original letters from and to such psychedelic and therapeutic luminaries as Lester Grinspoon, James Bakalar, Nathaniel Branden, Alexander Shulgin, and others.This extremely rare item does not appear in WorldCat, and was probably printed in a single-digit quantity and distributed mainly among the mid-1980s MDMA and empathogen researchers.… (mer)
