Rediscovering Catechism: The Art of Equipping Covenant Children is a clearly written book and one that Christian parents should read preferably while they still have young children. in this book, one learns a great deal about how a child learns, and therefore, the importance of using this time to teach the catechism. With TV, school, and friends, children do learn a catechism whether they are formally taught one or not. parent must spend the time to provide a guide for their children.

I think I would place more of headship with the father in catechizing children but I do agree that the church should insure and encourage that it is being done!
