Recensioner

Well written, well-plotted, good characterization. Liked the main characters. Breezy read. Engaging. Was a bit disappointed that the ghost part is minimal but that's okay. A solid mystery.

The accident is a fast paced suspense mystery that will keep you guessing until almost the end. It's my first book by this author and I plan to read some of his earlier books soon.

Karen has been badly hurt in an accident that her husband was killed in. She is suffering from survivors guilt and her life is at loose ends when she decides to help a friend. Her friend's sister has disappeared and she wants Karen to help her find out if she has been kidnapped or killed. Karen moves into the sister's house and takes the same job while she looks for clues. Most of the people in the story have secrets and it's up to Karen to figure out what the truth is.

My only negative feeling about the book is that there were a few loose ends that I thought didn't add anything to the story - especially Molly, the little girl on the beach. Other than this very minor issue, I found this to be a well written book that kept me turning pages to find out what happened.

Thanks to the publisher for a copy of this book to read and review. All opinions are my own.

STORY-LINE THE ACCIDENT BY GLEN EBISCH:

Karen Walker, a former homicide detective, is alive yet not living life. After a terrible auto accident, the death of her husband in the crash, and numerous surgeries, she lived in limbo. A call from her friend, Clarissa Hammett begging for help changes things for Karen. Clarissa's sister, Justine, is missing and the police are no help. Karen leaves her hermit-like existence to find Justine.

Moving into the house Justine occupied before her disappearance, taking a job at the same restaurant, and nosing around, Karen knows she has hard work ahead. With a variety of characters from the antagonistic Audrey to the handsome Sam and many more, Karen interviews and questions each one. Then Paul, her husband's brother and Justine's estranged husband, Jimmy, show up to cause even more problems.

Has Justine been kidnapped? Is she alive or dead? Who keeps trying to kill Karen? Has Karen gotten too close to the truth? Come along with Karen as she ferrets out the facts and deals with side issues. My mystery book reviews of The Accident follow.

CHARACTERS, PLOTTING, DEVELOPMENT:

I found The Accident an intriguing mystery story. Author Glen Ebisch created first-class suspense in The Accident. Filled with twists and turns, many suspects, and an unexpected action-packed, mouth dropping finale, Ebisch created a tale which will rivet the reader. I found myself unable to close my E-reader until I read the last sentence. Ebisch' plotting is excellent as he added element upon element to this story. His scenes transition well and his writing flow smoothly. As a result, I could see the scenes and feel the characters emotions. I became enmeshed in the lives of the characters immediately. Karen' character portrays an intelligent, savvy woman who faced the worse life could throw. Karen lived in isolated limbo for months; breathing but not living life. As a result, it was terrific to watch Ebisch develop her character.

The mystery grabbed me immediately as Karen traces Justine's steps. Glen Ebisch held the who, what, why, and when close to his chest, only revealing each aspect as needed. The suspense is spine-tingling, and the mystery and suspense build throughout the book. One reviewer stated the story is a puzzler; I totally agree. The Accident's a story with many puzzle pieces which ultimately fit as they should. Slowly and creatively building the suspense to the grand finale in this action-packed mystery, Glen Ebisch skillfully brought all the puzzle pieces together.

I found myself rapidly turning pages as I followed Karen through threats, mystery, assaults, inept police, and a variety of motives and suspects. An unexpectedly intriguing who-done-it, The Accident will hold the reader's attention from the first pages. With secondary characters who added depth, as well as further mysteries and motives, the action increased exponentially. Adding a touch of romance, Ebisch satisfied those of us who like a little romance with our mystery.

MY OPINION:

My job as a book reviewer is to tell the reader the pros and cons of the book. I can honestly say I did not find any cons in this story. My opinion is as follows. I found The Accident an intriguing, action-packed mystery filled with well-developed characters. Also, the storyline is fresh and original. Furthermore, Ebisch's writing is clear and easy to follow, making this book a joy to read. Also, the plotting's excellent with multiple plot threads which were brought together seamlessly. Ebisch leaves the reader well sated with pure satisfaction. I closed my E-reader with a sigh of contentment from a few hours spent in reading pleasure. A clean, satisfying read suitable for anyone who enjoys a superb mystery, I would not hesitate to buy this book for myself or a friend.

THE ACCIDENT RECOMMENDATION: STARS 4

STORY-LINE STORMY WEATHER:

Author Glen Ebisch's mystery suspense crime novel, Stormy Weather is a first-rate thriller. Stormy McCloud, resident meteorologist, finds herself involved in murder, mayhem, theft, and possibly romance. Stormy as the new junior weather girl, has acquired a lot of fans and received fan mail due her popularity. However head meteorologist, Travis Lambert, finds her fame threatening. Rude, self-centered, and vain, Travis threatens Stormy with dismissal. Things are not happy at the local television station. A place full of personalities, back biting, stabbing, and lies.

When a contractor discovers Travis body buried on Stormy's property, she's in big trouble of the legal kind. Murder, mayhem, and suspicion ensue. Enter stage right, our hero, Chance Malone, Bible verse quoting Private Detective. Hired by the station manager to look into the murder, Chance and Stormy embark on an adventure of up and downs, lies, thieves, criminals, and murderers.

Grab a comfortable seat, my mystery suspense criminal novel review of Stormy Weather follows.

CHARACTERS, PLOTTING, DEVELOPMENT:

Primarily a mystery suspense novel, Ebisch, included just enough romance to peak the readers interest. In Stormy Weather, the reader finds an intriguing story-line filled with worthy villains. Ebisch wove many plot threads together to form a solid cohesive novel of suspense and thrills. With twists and turns around very corner, the suspense is kept at its highest peak throughout the book.

The character development was solid as the reader finds a station full of suspects. Which ones are the real culprits? Ebisch expertly reveals the culprit or culprits at just the correct moment to keep the reader glued to the novel.

Developing two characters which seemed polar opposites, yet, had more in common than they realized, Ebisch wets the reader appetite with romance. Chance, a faith-based Bible verse quoting P. I. and Stormy with a non believers attitude and past relationship problems, would not typically be your normal romantic couple. However, Ebisch, weaves romance around them expertly.

Finally, in concluding my mystery suspense criminal novel review of Stormy Weather, I found a solid story-line, well-written, with well-developed characters, and plot lines which will hold the readers interest. I found at one point, the story slowed but quickly picked up speed again. The author held the culprits close to his chest and do not reveal the identifies until the last moment.

STORMY WEATHER RECOMMENDATION: Stars 4

I would not hesitate to buy this book for my self or a friend. I look forward to reading other works from the talented pen and imagination of Glen Ebisch.
