Otto Frank's office was buzzing with news of the Nazis. Fear, especially among the Franks and their other Jewish friends, was growing. With no other safe options left, Otto went to his trusted employee, Miep Gies (Academy Award® Winner Mary Steenburgen, Best Supporting Actress, Melvin and Howard, 1981), for help. And so began a life of hiding, tucked away in the attic above the business, a courageous Miep providing them with living essentials. As the war raged on outside, Miep developed a unique connection with Otto's youngest, Anne, encouraging her to journal and bringing her notebooks until the Nazis finally discovered their secret. Jack Palmer is a social worker whose job is to help four mentally challenged men live regular lives in a home. Norman, works at a donut shop and has a thing for keys; Barry, thinks he is a golf pro and doesn't communicate well with his father; Arnold, has a habit of spending money; and Lucien, who is into Spider Man and must testify before the state senate. Jack wants to help them, but he also thinks it is time to move on with his life.
