The Ironically named Fun Family is an excellent commentary on a lot of different issues, and it is well done. It is not, however, fun, and if you're expecting it to be a book that leaves you feeling good at the end, don't pick this up. It isn't meant to cheer you up, but to make a point (or rather several).

While I did love this book for the most part, I do wish there had been mentions that more competent mental health care exists, but it does a good job of showing how people can take advantage of the trust of others by being in the position of health care worker. Just as in any other profession, there are people who are not there to help despite what they say, and there are people who would do things or have done things that hurt others through a ruse of self-help. There is a lot between these pages and they won't make you feel better, but they will give you something to talk about.… (mer)
