He then returned to the Air Force, served on active duty for almost 30 years, worked on the Gemini launch vehicle for NASA Manned Space Program, and semiretired in 1966. There is no better published Mustang pilot memoir - and that includes Anderson, who is over-rated in my book..along with friend, the oaf Yeager.. 31st FG ace takes you into the cockpit and up to 30,000 ft to duel with German fighters. Modest and intelligent, a great read..
