Solid 3.5 stars. I bought this for the library because a patron requested, and figured I should give it a read. The art is fantastic, and the story is engaging.
This is the first collected volume in the Tomboy series. This was an intense and intriguing graphic novel.
When Addison finds out a friend of hers has been murdered she ends up taking revenge in a brutal way. Little does she know that this kind of violence runs in her family....
The story and the illustration were both very good. I am curious to see if there end up being any supernatural elements in the story as it continues.
The story is pretty violent and gory so just FYI to those who don't like that sort of thing. I personally enjoyed the contrast between Addison's perky, girly daily self and the viciousness with which she takes revenge.
Overall this was a fun and intriguing horror graphic novel read. I enjoyed both the illustration and the story and plan on continuing the series.… (mer)
