In book three of the Glimmer girls series there is another mystery for the girls to solve. It is a The Gloria Glimmer, the mother, is a Christian Singer who performs all over the world. The family, three sisters Maddie, Mia, and Lulu are clever and fun yet have normal sibling issues. This is a Christian series, but does not over emphasize it. There is a mention of praying, asking God for signals to show what he wants you to do as well as talking to him and wanting to do things for the right reasons and to help others. All good messages.

This time the family is putting on a benefit to help the local mission in the city of Nashville. The girls are actually going to get the opportunity to sing at the Grand Ole Opry. There is a silent auction being held as part of the benefit and Maddie and Mia's teacher donates a valuable guitar from her grandfather. The day before the concert, Gloria and the three girls head off to the Third Street Mission to volunteer. They meet a young girl by the name of Ruby who is staying at the mission with her mother and baby brother. They feel close to Ruby and want to do something to help her. Meanwhile Maddie and Mia are dealing with best friends who are upset with them and do not want to come to the concert or spend time with them. They are upset about this and talk to their mother as well as pray to try and solve the problem. At the rehearsal for the concert and while setting up the auction, they realize the valuable guitar is missing. Again they talk to their parents and pray for guidance. Will they find the guitar before the auction? Can they help Ruby and make a difference in the life of her and her family? Will Maddie, Mia, Emily and Annabelle solve their problems and mend their relationship?

Overall this is a great read for young girls, a little adventure, a little mystery, a little family dramatics, some good Christian morals and learning a little about the needy in the community and the supports available to them. A great addition to a local library and definitely in Christian Schools, churches etc.

I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is book two in the Glimmer girls series. It is a family where the mother is a Christian Singer who performs all over the world. The family, three sisters Maddie, Mia, and Lulu are clever and fun yet have normal sibling issues. This is a Christian series, but does not over emphasize it. There is a mention of praying, asking God for signals to show what he wants you to do as well as talking to him and wanting to do things for the right reasons.

This time the family is in San Diego for another performance by their mother and her band, and there is another mystery that needs solving. After Maddie solved the mystery in the first book, Mia is a little jealous in this one. She really wants to solve the mystery at the sea world type theme park and has a bit of a one track mind during parts of the story. It was a fun story and kept me reading to see who was the culprit. The descriptions made me want to visit the theme park they went to, it sounded amazing and the rides seemed to be a lot of fun. A Dolphin Wish is the perfect next chapter in the Glimmer girls series. Overall this is a great read for young girls, a little adventure, a little mystery, a little family dramatics, some good Christian morals and learning a little about another country. A great addition to a local library and definitely in Christian Schools, churches etc.

This is the first book in a new series "Glimmer Girls." It is a family where the mother is a Christian Singer who performs all over the world. The family, three sisters Maddie, Mia, and Lulu are clever and fun yet have normal sibling issues. Maddie and Mia are 10-year-old twins. Mia is very outgoing and loves to perform, while Maddie is more of an introvert and loves art. Lulu is six and she's a handful who causes a lot of trouble but is so cute she gets away with a lot. The dad and a nanny, Miss Julia, accompany the family as well. This is a Christian series, but does not over emphasize it. There is a mention of praying, asking God for signals to show what he wants you to do as well as talking to him.

In this story the family is on a trip to London where Gloria Glimmer, is scheduled to perform several concerts. While the parents are busy with rehearsals and concerts the girls and their nanny go sight-seeing around London. There was a travelogue about London during this part of the story which was a good way to share information about London while enjoying the story. The trip on the double decker bus was fun, especially the part where Lulu is singing and dancing in the aisle, much to the embarrassment of Maddie, but the delight of the passengers. The mystery part of the story involves a painting at the London Art Gallery.

The main reason I did not give this book 5 stars was the part where Maddie snuck out of the hotel on her own to try and recover a stolen painting. All turns out well with her safety, but a 10 year old alone on the streets in a foreign country is just a bit too scary for me as a parent and grandparent.

Overall this is a great read for young girls, a little adventure, a little mystery, a little family dramatics, some good Christian morals and learning a little about another country. A great addition to a local library and definitely in Christian Schools, churches etc.

I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

These lively girls are now off to New York City where more fun and adventure await them and how the FaithGirlz get involved in the mysterious Snow Angel. Excitement and adventure await readers as the family of three girls with their father, famous mother, and their nanny - who is a powerful influence on the girls - take in New York City.

While a fun, readable story that does involve faith and prayer and while it lets the young readers glimpse the life of children whose parent is a famous entertainer, it does have the young FaithGirlz doing things children their age should not. For example: sneaking out without parent's permission (in New York, really?). Also, as with most families there is sibling arguing, and they sometimes have an "attitude."

The importance of telling the truth and of forgiveness are positives in this book and series.

I find this is still an enjoyable story, and girls just seem to love thise little books by Natalie Grant.
