Sheila Gunter

I was born in Denton, Texas, where I still live. I have studied music since I was a kid, in particular, the piano. I studied piano, Russian, music history and music theory in a stage in Moscow. Enjoying learning greatly, I have a B.A. in English (UNT, Denton), an M.A. in Russian Literature and Language (UT, Austin), and a second M.A. (UNT, Denton) in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on music. In my writings on music, I aim to emphasize the poetic interactions and emotional import of music, rather than an analysis of it which, in my opinion, leads the reader or listener away from its meaning or its actual musical flow and essences.
