A very helpful book that provides an ample amount of information for both parents and caretakers of children with schizophrenia. It walks family members through the early stages of the disease, while providing basic tools for proper diagnosis, medication, hospitalization, therapy, and education. Many examples are provided that are written in a way that are easily understood for the average reader. The authors provide advice from other parents of schizophrenic sufferers and remind the reader that he or she is not alone.

I found this book to be very helpful with my resent struggles. My daughter has been having some struggles with school and her schizophrenic paranoia and this book provides helpful coping skills. It is therapeutic to read about how other parents have struggled and survived their children's delusions. I highly recommend this book. It is both thin and an easy read. It has a great deal of useful information that I found myself referring to it recently.… (mer)
