Recensioner

This book discusses Arizona Congressman J.D. Hayworth's views on what America should we do to address our Country's border crisis, and his answer is "Whatever it takes".

There are people who feel that our Country can't function without the labor of "guest workers" and / or illegal aliens, but he has a response for all of those arguements. There is no question about his passion about securing our borders in the post 9/11 world we live in.

There are many arguments to be made about whether or not "guest workers" should be permitted, and the effect of illegal aliens on our work force, how they affect wages in our Country, and how health and education benefits (and therefore taxes) are impacted. Scary and significant to me are the inane laws and policies he mentions protecting known gang members and others blatantly taking advantage of the system.

It's timely reading and topical as the 2008 presidental election approaches.

A disappointing book. Hayworth had a unique platform to really research, discuss and delve into a hot button issue that the DC crowd has ignored for decades - illegal immigration.

Instead of following the topic he lays out as the book title, the book is mostly a political hit piece on his opponents peppered in with grandiose broad statements about border issues, without delving into specifics. An opportunity missed.

J.D. Hayworth makes no apologies for his opinions on illegal immigration. As a talk show host and former state representative in Arizona, Hayworth is well aware of the costs and dangers associated with illegal immigration in the south.

I found the book to be eye opening and frightening. Hayworth gives plenty of examples and facts and figures to inform us of the true problem we have with illegal immigration, especially on our southern border. Unlike many similar books, however, this one actually offers some real solutions and informs the reader of what we could and should be doing to handle this problem right now.… (mer)
