Nice art! Not bad. 2.5 stars. I haven't read the previous books, of course---may pick them up. Curiously similar themes to the Murderbot Diaries I've been devouring recently, but much more YA, though not as good.

This is the first book in a thrilling series full of zombies and monsters. An unusual group of kids band together against the monsters and find an unlikely friendship. Told from the perspective of a 13 year old boy, there is some humorous teen slang. This book does have some mild rude and offensive language which would make it a better fit for middle school students.

I really loved this graphic novel series. I loved how this book really expanded the world past winter. I loved the even though IKO was the main character, but we still save all the other characters throughout the read. I also really loved the art style and made me love the characters even more. It was such a fast pace read and I am super excited to get my hands on the second volume soon!
