Found this in a box when cleaning out a spare room.....'Cartoons about cats' i thought......this will be quick & fun! WRONG!!! Quick, yes.....Fun??? NO! I do not know what i am missing, but at best, i chuckled lightly 10 -12 times. Created in 1987....lots of Reagan Administration and Iran Contra references..... lots of feminism....i think......and yes, there was a cat.....but it did little and was not very funny.....it was just always there. I never got a grip as to who the lady with the cigarette at the typewriter was.....or who was really talking when the typewriter had lines.....or who kept writing the signs on the refrigerator. Basically, I was lost. But, its over now.....onward and upward.… (mer)

How much I loved Sylvia back in the day! I read her in the paper in the 80's and 90's and even cut some of the ones out that I liked and saved them. ("At the sound of the beep, tell me, is it all hopeless or what?")

This took me back. Now, reading these early 80's comics, I can see they are a bit dated. Not surprising as this is a popular medium that expresses what is happening in the world around us in the artwork/humor/conventions of the times.

Still, I had a few laugh out loud moments.

I started reading Sylvia in the late 80's so there wasn't any mention of the fairy godmother or Julio Iglesias in this compilation. They may be later jokes. I plan to keep reading and get my Sylvia fill.
