I don't really know how to explain what I love about this book without spoiling it. So I'll just say that I think it doesn't follow the typical pattern for this kind of sci-fi book. I understand why there might be some people who don't like it because of its style, but I loved it.

A tale of man made apocalypse, just not in the way you expect. I appreciate the realistic view of human nature under the immense pressure of a potential extinction event.

Disappointing. Comet is going to crash into earth; team assembles to stop it. Meanwhile, mostly off stage, the world completely falls apart for no clear reason all in 180 days. Fall apart as in cannibalism, cities going dark/being abandoned. Mission succeeds but the best survivors are Amazon aboriginals.
