Kate Jacobs grew up near Vancouver, British Columbia. She received a bachelor's degree in journalism from Carleton University in Ottawa and a master's degree from NYU. After some unpaid internships, she became an assistant to the books and fiction editor at Redbook magazine. Before she started visa mer writing books, she was an editor at Working Woman and Family Life and a freelance writer and editor at the website for Lifetime Television. bought it at the Scholastic book fair to take on a trip. good read! Great charachter development like Nora Roberts without too much sappy romance. Felt like I knew the characters and therefore a quick beach & plane read. In fact the stewardess had to ask me twice if I wanted a drink because I was so absorbed in the book! Going to check out her other books!
The story as a whole was ok. I just could not get into the writing style.
Chick lit. OK if you're in the mood for family drama, good women friends helping each other. The ending was too predictable for me.

I read it for the knitting, and the nice thing about it being such a superficial read is that I could knit while reading it, which was nice, because it made me crave knitting.… (mer)
