Ms. Bird interviewed people who had retired from their first careers as teachers, lawyers, stay-at-home moms, secretaries, etc. etc. etc. and were now working at a little something because they need to supplement their retirement income or because they need activity or satisfaction of working. This book was based on a poll returned by 6,347 REAL PEOPLE over the age of 50 who were ACTUALLY WORKING in nearly 300 occupations. It is NOT speculation on what people MIGHT do. It is about what REAL people are REALLY doing and you might do too but might not have thought of.

My favorite is the man who works as a dancer for a cruise line. Yes, he gets free passage & meals plus a small stipend for dancing with older ladies on a cruise ship!… (mer)
