Got my hands on an advance readers copy of "BLANK."

Fast-paced. You're going to be intrigued by the main character, Beth. If you want to see how abandonment and an on-going life without stability can lead to personality issues, this is the book for you! Having to find her own way in the world is tough, and to be railroaded into a life as a CIA covert operative doesn't help. But she is good—VERY good—at what she does, despite (or maybe because) of all her past challenges. Well, she's quite outstanding, not just because of her past, but because of her lineage; a lineage that goes back to a people not talked about by mere mortals.

This is a great prequel to "Warrior of the Ages." Read it as Book One, as Book Two, or as a standalone, but, regardless, read it!

Bitch Witch is the story of Sarah Elizabeth Archer, descendant of a long line of dark witches. Sarah is trying desperately to not use dark matter to cast her spells as it only brings out more evil in her, but she slips now and again. A Target run while she has PMS and a confrontation with another woman leads to a spell cast against the woman's truck. Problem is that spells like this rebound against the user so Sarah's jeep is pushed into a nearby BMW causing a lot of damage to the car.
The car is driven by Paul Revere Longfellow, a veteran of Afghanistan and son of an Oklahoman oilman, who is resolving some issues with PTSD by fetching the car for his father. Another little rebound love spell gets Sarah involved with Paul, though not in the way she thought the spell would work.
This story has a lot of humor and it's the type that I really like. The concept for the story was also interesting. The descriptions of Shrewsbury and Mass L&P are perfect and all of the characters are funny and engaging, even the minor ones. Sarah's friend at work might be my favorite.
Both Sarah and Paul are a great couple and also good friends. This was a good read, a little different from the usual paranormal, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

[Full disclosure: I had a small part in preparing this book for publication.]

Why should you read "Warrior of the Ages"? Great story; well defined characters who are easy to like (love); an unusual idea of immortality (dying some thirty times a millenium); an easy, flowing narrative style.

Why not read it? I've given it thought, and for the reader of fiction, especially speculative fiction (a rather wide genre), i can only think of one reason: There is a religious element, in that some form of non-corporeal beings form a part of the structure of the book. On the one hand, this might be enough to turn some off; on the other, it's only religious in the sense that "A Bear Called Paddington" is ursine. In other words, that's no reason not to read the thing.

To be perfectly honest, i love this book; and i am not shy about spelling out the flaws of books i read and review (see my blog ~ http://rhydypennau.blogspot.co.uk/ ~ for plenty of examples).
