I prefer accuracy and realism in my mystery/adventure/thriller readings.
I strongly object to inaccurate tropes that may, and most likely have, caused readers, movie goers, the general public... to believe that certain aggressive tactics on their part will only incapacitate rather than kill their opponent.
Authors that use these inaccurate but murderous tropes perpetuate dangerous misinformation and are accomplices to murder in real life... in my book. -pb.

Interesting, uncomfortable reading about how wrong most authors get medical conditions, such as blows to the head, amnesia, being shot in the shoulder, etc. As a paramedic, this really pisses the author off, so she makes recommendations of how to bring truth into the story. I'm not sure that readers are actually looking for truth in that kind of story, however. Still, a worthwhile read.
