Kort biografi: BRIAN KEENE is the author of over twenty-five books, including Castaways, Ghost Walk, Dark Hollow, Kill Whitey, Unhappy Endings, Dead Sea, and many more. He also writes comic books for Marvel Comics and others. Several of his novels and stories have been optioned for film, one of which, The Ties That Bind, premiered in 2009. Also in 2009, another of his novels was adapted for the stage. The winner of two Bram Stoker awards, Keene’s work has been praised in such diverse places as The New York Times, The History Channel, The Howard Stern Show, CNN.com, Publisher’s Weekly, Fangoria Magazine, and Rue Morgue Magazine. The Cage av Brian Keene

For fans of Brian Keene this is likely to be one of those books you've been waiting a while for. Before Deadite Press released this edition it had only been released in a limited edition hardback and on a collection called Conspiracy of One - both of which are out of print and only available on the likes of e-bay for larger sums of money.[return][return]As the book description says it follows a group of electronic store employees who are locked in a storage cage in the warehouse whilst a madman goes to work at the front of the shop. He then takes the employees out to the front one at a time leaving the remaining hostages to wonder what is really going on. With a good chunk of the book taking place in the warehouse it follows the reactions of the remaining members and how they interact with each other and deal with what is happening. It also leave both them and the reader to wonder what the madman has in store for them. [return][return]Fans of Keene's previous works will enjoys the links this has with the mythos which features in his others works whilst not being too confusing for anyone who has never read a Keene book before.[return][return]Whilst the book could of happily been released on it's own both Deadite and Brian Keene have added 3 bonus short stories called “Marriage Causes Cancer In Rats,” “Lest Ye Become,” and “Waiting For Darkness” - these have been released before but are now out of print so it is good to see them being added to give readers better value and to give fans more access to his other works.[return][return]The book is a good read for fans of both Keene and horror and it's good to see his work being made more accessible so I highly recommend you add this to your books collection.… (mer)

The Rising (The Rising #1) av Brian Keene

There's some novel interesting stuff here with zombies being more possessed by demonic forces than brain impaired undead. Animal zombies as ravaging hordes is an interesting idea. Unfortunately it is undercut by the execution - bizarre actions by the surviving humans (in the usual humans are worse than the plague itself fashion), ill advised descriptions of black characters and prostitution among other things. The framework story itself ends on a cliffhanger - not necessarily bad, but felt cheap given the stumbling narrative preceding it and knowing there's a sequel.… (mer)

Darkness on the Edge of Town av Brian Keene

Barely 3 stars. Derivative plot that was a lot like The Dome by King. Poor writing, wooden characters (thank you Kristin) that were one dimensional. However, I gave it 3 stars because I did want to know the resolve of the story,so it did capture my interest,and I was not happy when the book left me hanging.There is probably a sequel that I don't know about as this is the first time I have read this author.

Dead Sea av Brian Keene

The third of his Zombie novels, but nothing like the first 2. These are your typical brainless, slow moving zombies. He adds to twist that animals can become infected. Tells the story of a young man who meets ups with some young children and together they flee a burning city onto a ship. Very engaging and interesting novel.
