Philip F. Kennedy is Professor of Arabic Literature at New York University. He is author of The Wine Song in Classical Arabic Poetry: Abu Nuwas and the literary tradition (1997) and General Editor of the Library of Arabic Literature, a joint project of the NYU Abu Dhabi Institute and NYU Press.

Scheherazade's Children: Global Encounters with the… av Philip F. Kennedy
An uneven collection of academic treatments of the migration of the Arabian Nights into other literatures/cultures, mostly English literature but also English theater, and Japanese and Indian theater. A handful of the essays are excellant -- my favorites are:

"The Collector of Worlds: Richard Burton, Cosmopolitan Translator of the Nights", Paulo Lemos Horts;
"The Rings of Budur and Qamar al-Zaman", Wendy Doniger;
"Borges and the Missing Pages of the Nights", Phillip F. Kennedy (one of the editors).
