Lighthearted and funny. It's also applicable to Godparents who Take An Interest.

This little book was a sort of jokey Christmas present from my sister. I've had it for years and never quite got around to reading it until when I was ill recently. It's only a small thin book, just under 100 pages, so there's not much reading in it. Each page has between 1-5 individual sentences that finish off the title of the book. There's quite a mixed bag. The majority of them are amusing in a sort of quiet chuckle way but I couldn't say that I really related to them. There were only a few that made me go "oh yes, that is so true!" (All your bedspreads have ink stains on them/You liked the book better than the movie/Your heartbeat quickens when you enter a bookstore/You get a book idea while washing the dishes/You watch your husband intently while he reads your pieces. When he laughs, you say, "What part are you up to?")

It's also rather North American-centric. Lines like "You think in a British accent", made me roll my eyes and say, "Well, of course, because I am British." It's almost as though the author didn't realise that people outside of the US/Canada would be able to get hold of a copy and read it. And yet, that's the magic of books, that they are generally available internationally, especially these days with the advent of the internet.

It's an amusing enough little book and perhaps other would-be writers would get a kick out of it. However, at £6.57, it's rather overpriced for what it is.

A short, quaint little book I found on in the bargain bin. Full of a bunch of situations, phrases, ideas that can lead to the reader to understanding if they’re a writer … or have a good laugh because they actually have done some of these things in the past.

A similiar take of “you know you’re a redneck if”.

Two of my favorites from the book - you know you’re a writer when … -

* you are shipwrecked on a deserted island and can’t send the rescue note off in a bottle because you have no access to spell-check.
* your driver’s license reads, eyes: shifty. Hair: windswept.
