I have been enjoying (and struggling) with Mediterranean gardens for more than 25 years but there are always new things to discover. Hugo Latymer has plenty, such as species that I haven't seen and others I would like to try. The part on wider watering of citrus was new to me as was the interesting information on transplanting palms. The format is similar to the excellent Mediterranean Plants and Gardens by Roy Lancaster and the Vicomte de Noailles but the photos don't match the magnificent ones in Lancaster's book and nor does it have the clarity of one plant / one photo. Lists of text and Latin names are just confusing without matching photos.… (mer)
