I LOVED BOOK 3, BUT I MISSED BOOK ONE AND TWO! Cherry had a chance to be human again, but it would mean no longer seeing Constantine again and it hurt her big time. As she had been a model, she tried to get back in the game , but no one wanted a thirty year old model. She agreed to go into partnership with her best friend, and she saw the underbelly of men that she had not seen when she was a vampire. AND SHE FINALLY KNEW WHAT TO DO WITH HER HUMAN LIFE. I LOVED THAT Constantine let Cherry go as he wanted her to be happy; she'd chosen Alex over him and he'd stayed out of her life for the moist part unless it was an emergency. Book three was so hot, I almost needed ICE as both men rocked her world!… (mer)

My original Magic at Work audiobook review and many others can be found at Audiobook Reviewer.

Magic at Work was a very cute enemy to lovers, sexy office romance with a tiny dash of paranormal. The magical element worked well even for somebody who is not really into this genre.

Lexi has trust issues and feels insecure. After a failed relationship, she is working in her stepdad's company. She has settled for mundane work. She has settled for sex rather than love. One day, she finds an erotic paranormal novel on her office computer and becomes totally captivated by it. Ric is the company's IT guy who used to be a bit of a bad boy but is now reformed thanks to Lexi's stepdad. He also appears to be Rex, the hot male protagonist in Lexi's online novel.

Sotia Lazu once again showed that she can write erotic scenes with just the right steaminess factor. I like that she keeps it classy rather than swerving towards smutty. She created a great cast of protagonists and side characters. Lexi's Mum and her stepdad were wonderful. The snarky banter between Lexi and Ric/Rex was hilarious.

Overall, I really enjoyed the narration by Hollie Jackson. She was great at delivering the humor and all the emotions involved. Her narration was lively and the voices distinct, so you always knew who was talking. The only thing that took me a while to get used to were the British accents used for Ric and for Lexi's stepdad. They would have been more believable if they had been a bit more dimmed, not quite so much like Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins. There were no issues with the quality of the production.

This was a really funny, light and romantic story, which was well written and held my attention throughout. Recommended for any fans of contemporary sexy romances who don't mind a hint of magic.

I received this book for free from the author in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Have you ever enjoyed a book so much that you were able to overlook the obvious flaws to reach your happily ever after? Threefold was a delicious treat, but there were definite flaws (in the characters, mostly) that I typically would not be able to overlook. Lazu must be a sneaky word magician, because I loved this book and I’ll definitely be reading more from her!

Let’s talk about what I enjoyed first. I loved our female protagonist, Becca. She is all kinds of curvy, naughty, saucy fun and she’s not afraid to be herself! I love a woman who doesn’t let her insecurities rule her life. And the best of all, she uses her talent at snark to put Colin in his place when he pulls the “narcissist asshole” routine.

I also really enjoyed the naughty times, even the one that clearly stumbled into “cheating.” Lazu really brings the heat, so I was not disappointed there. Especially when Brad and Colin were able to get over their hang ups and focus on enjoying each other.

Where I was a bit let down? Colin. Colin was a real shallow ass hat. He came off as cold and narcissist until I learned that he used his “shallow” personality to keep Becca and Brad firmly in the friends-only category. It clearly didn’t work and naughty times ensued. (And I really enjoyed those naughty times, if I forgot to mention. Ahem.) So while he was redeemable by the end of the book, I really just did not like him in the beginning.

Even though there were a few things I didn’t like and didn’t expect to get past, I loved it the experience and can’t wait to read more from Lazu. I recommend Threefold to anyone who can get passed the bumpy ride and enjoy the steamy romance.
