Eliza Locke

Usually, poetry is not the kind of literature that I am used to reading. Won this book in a good reads giveaway and from the first look, I must admit that I fell in love with the illustrations. With very few lines drawing a complete picture: I find that awesome.

I liked it that the book I received was signed by the author :-)

About the poems later more. They ask for more than just a good glance.

Finally I got to reading the poems. The title Kissing in Iceland was misleading to me. I expected more about Iceland / travelling.

I think the poetry in this book was kind of raw, unpolished in terms of choice of words. It differs very much from the poetry I was used to reading when in grammar school, that had rhyme, rhythm, a kind of decipherable strangeness.

While trying to read it as poetry, I failed, did not really get what I was reading. Since there was hardly any rhyme, I decided to treat it more like a short story. That was better, although I do not like the language used, ad I said before.… (mer)
