Recognized globally as one of the foremost Yoga and Meditation masters of our time, Mahamandaleshwar Paramhans Swami Maheshwarananda (Swamiji) is a living descendant of a long line of respected yogis. In this book, Swamiji guides us through the deeply human world of Yoga Vedanta Philosophy. This is a collection based on the recordings of his satsangs (spiritual gatherings, seminars, lectures and talks) in Europe from 1982 to 1986.

When you are reading this book, you are truly transported to these lectures where you can totally visualize yourself sitting right there in front of him. These talks are on the spiritual dimensions of yoga and are given in the sweetly simple, yet profound way of Swamiji. This book answers many questions that spiritual seekers have regarding the life and practice of a yogi in language that is easily understood.

Swamiji has put his knowledge into developing a system of yoga and meditation, Yoga in Daily Life®, that teaches us how to overcome our weaknesses, to know ourselves better, and develop our potentials. He also teaches us how to accommodate the needs of today's modern lifestyle, without compromising the originality of the ancient science of Yoga.

What do we gain by practicing yoga?
- to be able to help ourselves in all life circumstances
- to be healthy
- to develop good concentration
- to develop self-confidence and calmness
- to gain physical and psychological integrity
- to attain balance between inner and outer activities
- to free ourselves from addictive habits and attachments
- to attain self-realization
