1) The author John Douglas Marshall, an American, was the longtime book critic for the Seattle Post-Intelligence and is now a critic for The Daily Beast (2011-11-21). His most controversial book is Reconciliation Road: A Family Odyssey of War and Honor dealing with Brig. Gen. S.L.A. Marshall, one of America's foremost military historians and a staunch defender of U.S. intervention in Vietnam.

2) The photographer John Douglas Marshall, an American, is a long time resident of Vienna, Austria. He has had photography exhibitions at the United Nations there (Bhutan), as well as at the Weltmuseum Wien and has published photographs in catalogues of musuem exhibitions and in other museum publications.
