Constance Verity Destroys the Universe (Volume 3) av A. Lee Martinez
Having wrapped up this trilogy I'm in a positive space, but have mixed feelings. What Martinez does best, the evisceration of pulp-fiction tropes, he still does very well, and he does have a convincing climax and a charming coda. Less good is that I never quite bought Connie's romance, and it really felt like the middle book in particular was a rerun of the first book. In as much as a rating of 3.75 is not an option, I'm going to be charitable and give the series the full four stars, and I look forward to the author's next book.… (mer)
To hell with this book for uniquely personal reasons. Note to self: just don’t. Low key torture.
TTHe book was just good pulpy fun. If you go in expecting more than that you will be disappointed. If you want some laughs and a squishy bad/good guy,read on.
A very fun read, troperific in all the right ways.
