I love this children's poems book. The main message seen in these children’s poems is all about positive friendships. It tells stories while using different types of poetry with the similar topic. The poems have many different styles and they are all very playful and fun to read. The poems cover a variety of activities friends typically enjoy doing together such as playing in the snow, laughing, riding bikes, having lemonade stands, walking down the street, etc. The book closes with a beautiful poem by Beatrice Schenk De Regniers about the different kinds of friends a person can have and the beauty of different kinds of friendships. The illustrations really make this book even better. The author uses fabric relief in her illustrations Each two page spread is an intriguing, detailed work of art that is just as good as the poem itself!… (mer)
