Awful. The "story" makes no sense, the art is terribly executed, and it's taught my son a whole new litany of gross words and mean insults. Thanks, Dan McGuiness.
This new series, written for fans of Captain Underpants and similar stories, follows the premise that if you include enough one-liners and bathroom humor, you don't really need to rely too heavily on plot. Silliness abounds, and the bright cover and artwork give this lots of eye-appeal. Unfortunately, the story of the two friends who are transported to an alternate dimension is just so convoluted that it takes more effort than it's really worth to keep up with what's going on. Super gross or humor, which the boy thinks is hilarious on occasion, including today . . Having read this once at the library and again as soon as we got home.
