The triumph of meanness : America's war against its… av Nicolaus Mills
It was too dated and too journalistic (as opposed to analytic) for my current interests. If you want ideas for dystopian novels set in the near future, the last chapter has some doozies.
This is a great book if you're interested in seeing "radical" political opinions unfiltered by nostalgia. The current Dissent doesn't live up to the essays in this collection.
This is both an excellent historical overview of 20th century genocide and an excellent introduction to some of the personal writings of those who lived through a gencocide. Each section begins with a first person account, which makes the following essays all the more immediate. Strongly recommended.
