As stated in the title, power and shame are at the root of addictions and failure in a variety of settings reaching from dysfunctional families, churches, cults, office to sports, modern caliphates, and sex workers. Sexual exploitation by both men and women is a pervasive problem worldwide. The book addresses backgrounds and root causes and showcases amazing stories. Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky are extensively used as examples because the case is well documented and made public.Having achieved wealth, status, stature, and fame, what's left? For all too many men and for some women, what's left is the desire to use their power and position to fulfill their unbridled sexual lust. Coming out and asserting sexual harassment, misconduct, or exploitation means becoming vulnerable to emotional, psychological, professional, social, financial, and legal harm.
