Jan A. Niemeijer

A short personal memoir of the author as he, as a youngster, experienced World War II in the northern Netherlands city of Groningen. It is a collection of stories of resistance, of survival, and of liberation.
The north of The Netherlands did not experience hardship to the same degree as further south (e.g. around Rotterdam), as told to me my parents - my mother was just south of Rotterdam and my father in Groningen in the war. However, the hardship was real, as the author portrays very well.
The book is in Dutch - it would be worth translating.… (mer)
