Yet, in these stories which i would describe as dark fantasy speculative fiction I sometimes felt like a literary tourist who ended up being on the wrong side of town with the wrong people at the wrong parties.

I realize it's not every author who can take readers on a trip like that and that talent is something in and of itself. There's a dark side of the psyche explored in these stories that is reminiscent of Clive Barker of whom it is written that he is "best known for his ability to imagine that which ought not be".

There will be scenes in Rossi that you can't un-see or un-remember.… (mer)

Every so often, you stumble across a book that makes time stop. Nothing matters from the words on the page and the author's voice. Luca Rossi's Galactic Energies is one of them.

Each of the stories has a different sci-fi theme. My favorite of the bunch if Latrodectus Mactans. It is the tale of a video game with a black widow spider- but this is not your usual spider. Heh. Heh.

Full of intensity, steamy scenes, and terror, Rossi's book will leave you wanting for more. I can't wait to read what's next.… (mer)

Quirky Sci-Fi Goodness!
I love reading short stories that I can pick up and put down. The only trouble with this book was that I was unable to put it down! One story just flowed into the next although there were all quite different. I was delighted with Rossi's imagination and his ability to convey his ideas about what the future might hold in store for us, especially with regard to whether technology is a good thing or a bad thing. Very timely. With a bit of Twilight Zone thrown in for good measure, my favorite shorts were `Rewind' and `Maciste' - great plot twists that I didn't see coming! Recommend to anyone looking for a fun sci-fi read!… (mer)
