Why did I read this? I don't know. I read a review in The Guardian and I thought I would try something different. I learned next to nothing about cricket as I hoped I would. It's one of those "tell all" books exposing all the politics inside the English Cricket League of Extraordinarily Whiney Gentlemen. What did I learn? A few things. A toxic boss is a lot like a toxic coach. And they both suck. Cliques happen in professional men's sports and not just in private boarding schools for girls. And they suck. Everyone has a nickname and for reporter Jonathan Agnew it's "Aggers" so please start calling me Aggers. And that's it. I kinda like KP's voice. He does shoot straight, but it's a bit too woe is me at times. On the other hand, he's not obnoxious and given KP's rep, that might surprise some.… (mer)
