I entered to win this book in the hopes that it would help inform me on the sport, since my husband takes a great interest in racing. It was an interesting read and very informative.

I remembering building a model of the Swamp Rat when Don Garlits built his first rear engine dragster. Steve Reyes captures the cars and drivers that held my attention in my teenage years. The book is short on indepth stories, but it captures the highlights of the development of the sport. The photographs are the real treasure of the book. I highly recommend it for racing fans.

This book is loaded with history and mostly vintage black-and-white photography, walking through the history of the railed top fuel dragster and how the rear-engine placement changed everything. If your'e a racing enthusiast, you can do much worse that to buy this book - lots of great content here.
My only complaint is the binding - I can understand the perfect binding (glued) being used for a manual but this subject is more deserving of something sewn.
