Frances Kroll Ring was born on May 17, 1916, in the Bronx, where she attended Morris High School. She was the personal secretary to F. Scott Fitzgerald for the last 20 months of his life and a longtime source of information for biographers, documentary filmmakers, students and fans. She wrote the visa mer memoir: Against the Current: As I Remember F. Scott Fitzgerald, published in 1985. Ring began working for the author in 1939. She is credited with typing drafts of The Last Tycoon and served as a sounding board for Fitzgerald as he was writing the book. She died on June 18, 2015; she was 99 years old. AGAINST THE CURRENT: As I Remember F. Scott Fitzgerald av Frances Kroll Ring
Not as compelling or as well written as Sheilah Graham's memoir, but interesting nevertheless. Even though Frances Kroll was a paid employee of Fitzgerald's, she was one of the closest people to him during his last two years of life. She typed all of the notes that later became "The Last Tycoon"; thus, her perspective is unique and this book is definitely worth a read.
