Jada Marlone, wife and mother, has recently received a promotion at the law firm at which she works, she lives in a big house with a pool in Long Island, and she is completely unhappy. Every night, in her dreams, she gets to visit with her deceased family members who help guide her through difficult situations in her life. When she wakes up, she isn't able to remember the dreams, only that she has strong feelings of obligation. I was interested in the concept of being able to visit with relatives who have passed on. Everyone wishes that they had just a few more minutes with their late relations. I just could not relate to the main character. In all honesty, I struggled to finish this book. I understand that we all have our own struggles and battles, but I just couldn't get on board with her decisions. The writing style was great and there were details about New York that helped me with the imagery, as someone who has yet to visit the state. Overall, I would recommend this book to someone who enjoys "a work in progress" reads. It just wasn't for me.… (mer)
