I bought the book as I was working (as a consultant, on service feasibility) on some of the issues, and, while written in 2008 and published in 2009, this book is interesting for at least three reasons: 1. it is good as an introduction to either recap the basics or guide you to something more focused 2. gives an overview across scientific, technical, commercial, and ethical issues 3. last but not least, the semester-long course at Yale that used this book, along with all the curriculum material is available online at http://oyc.yale.edu/biomedical-engineering/beng-100

do not bother to download the video: there are so many omissions due to copyright issues, that the book, along with the MP3, could probably do the trick; if you have time to watch it, download also the video (I downloaded the video only of the introductory lesson, while the rest only in MP3)
